Hack Your Home Toolkit

Promoting Autonomy in Arthritis Care

The Hack Your Home toolkit is a representation of my research findings about living with arthritis in the form of a physical artefact.

The toolkit consists of a series of cards that illustrate various 'hacks' that demonstrate how to improve the usability of specific products around the home.

This toolkit is designed to serve as a guide to assist individuals in living more independently and managing their long-term condition between doctor's appointments.

Skills

  • Using an inclusive design approach, I used various research methods, such as interviewing and hosting a focus group, to gain insights about older adults with Osteoarthritis.

  • To learn about people's experiences of living with arthritis, I conducted a series of semi-structured interviews in a conversational format, over the phone and face-to-face.

  • Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
